Micromax Unite 2 A106 gets Android Lollipop update: Quick Review

Micromax released Android 5.0 Lollipop update to its Micromax Unite 2 A106 smartphone. The update is only available through service centers, not FOTA. To know how to update Micromax Unite 2 to Android Lollipop Click here.
We managed to get update to our Micromax Unite 2 smartphone through service center and Here is our Quick Review.

Whats New in the Update:-

  • OS Upgrade to Android 5.0 Lollipop
  • Many Bloatware comes preinstalled with the upgrade like Dr. Driving, Skype, Clean Master, BMS, Chaatz, Zapr, HotStar, Mad, PayTm, Housing etc.
  • App storage is now combined with Mass Storage and you get 4.90 GB for Apps+Mass Storage which is 0.89 GB (For apps) before in Android KitKat
  • OTG is now fully supported, which have some bugs in KitKat version.
  • UI is completely changed.
  • New battery saver mode.

The update is only available to Unite 2 (8 GB) model. So please check it before update and if you have 4 GB model, So we request you to please wait for Android lollipop official upgrade for 4 GB model.

Micromax Unite 2 A106 now getting Android 5.0 Lollipop update through service centers

Micromax previously announced Android Lollipop update for Micromax Canvas Xpress A99, Which is the first Micromax smartphone to get Lollipop Update. Now Micromax is rolling out Android Lollipop update for Micromax Unite 2 which comes with Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box. Micromax in April 2014, announced that it will give a major Android update to Unite 2 smartphone. The Android Lollipop update now available for the device only through service centers not from FOTA. It may soon available  through FOTA. (Update is available Only for 8GB ROM version.)

How to update:-
  • Please go to nearest service center with a copy of retail bill/invoice of purchase
  • Tell them to update your device to Android 5.0 Lollipop.
  • If they say no, Then tell them to please check it on Micromax FTP site.

If you are unable to visit service center, You can download the official firmware from Moulnisky and install it though SP flash tools. (How to Flash)


What's New in Update:-


  • OS upgrade to Android 5.0 Lollipop.
  • New Material UI.
  • Improved battery.
  • Improved RAM performance.

Samsung has officially announced the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge with Galaxy S6 at MWC, Barcelona. The Galaxy S6 Edge comes with a uniform curved edge on both sides of display. Under the hood, It has 5.1-inch QHD (1440*2560 pixels) resolution display and powered by 64-bit Exynos Octa-core processor along with 3 GB of RAM. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system and has 32/64/128 GB memory options without a expandable storage. For photography it has 16 MP rear camera and 5 MP front facing camera as Galaxy S6. It is backed up with 2600 mAh of battery.

HTC launched its new flagship smartphone, The new HTC One M9 at MWC2015, Barcelona. HTC M9 comes with a all-metal uni-body design. It has 5-inch Full HD (1920*1080 pixels) resolution display and powered by 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor along with 3 GB of RAM. For photography, It has 20 MP rear camera with LED flash and a 4 Ultra pixels  front camera for better selfies. It is backed up with 2840 mAh of battery and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system with Sense UI 7 on top.
