It is possible to add a movie-theater like effect while watching videos on YouTube, such that the entire screen except the video will get dimmed. For this you just have a browser extension called Turn Off the Lights that is available for both the Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox browsers.
Once Turn off the Lights has been installed in your browser, a lamp icon will appear in your URL address bar. Clicking on the lamp icon will help you to dim the entire screen, like a movie theater, and put complete focus on the video you are viewing.
